Queen Esther's FALL Poker Run
Are you tired of being cooped up indoors? Why not come out for Queen Esther’s 1st Annual Fall Poker Run on Saturday, November 14th! This is an event you can stay in your car for, or if you choose, get out and walk around at each of the stops. The Poker Run will start at the Masonic Temple in downtown Phoenix and end at Rattlesnake Cove, Bartlett Lake, which is just north of Scottsdale. The route is approximately 65 scenic miles one way from downtown. You will collect a single playing card at five or six different locations. So pack your car with a picnic lunch and people you love or can at least tolerate for a short drive 😊
It’s time to come out and have some fun! The optional 6th location to get a bonus card is Justa Center in exchange for an item they are in need of https://justacenter.org/current-needs so make sure to pick up something in advance.
For those of you interested below are a few additional details!
1. Event will be on Saturday November 14th starting at 345 W Monroe St, Phoenix, AZ 85003 between 10:00am and 11:30am and ending at 2:00pm
2. At the Starting point a few Queen Esther Members will be outside ready to give you the map/route with the stops, your first card and instructions!
3. At each stop, you will collect a sealed envelope containing a playing card. At the end point, all envelopes will be opened to reveal your hand and recorded on a tally sheet.
4. Please note there is a day use fee at Bartlett lake that is $8 per car (provided you preregister) if you chose to get out of your car and hang out for a bit, maybe even pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the lake!
5. Once everyone has turned in their hands and we have the results recorded, the Top 3 hands will be announced/emailed. 1st place will receive 25% of proceeds, 2nd place a surprise gift basket, and 3rd place a $25 gift card.
6, The cost is $10 a hand, you’re welcome to purchase as many hands as you choose.
7. Pre-registration is recommended. You will need to select a wave time to start, which will be in 10-minute intervals between 10:00am and 11:30am. This will help space out the traffic. The idea is to enjoy the ride and scenery along the way and still maintain social distancing. Keep to the speed limit, but please make sure you have your final hand turned in by 2:00pm.
